meet the LAB

ALab.Studio is an art and design studio creating luxury rugs and unique analog & digital artworks. Combining traditional craftsmanship with modern digital design, it bridges the gap between heritage and innovation. A mixed-media lab with a focus on conception, creation and craft.

The
Studio

At ALab.Studio, we focus on blending analog and digital creation to craft meaningful and enduring art. Our work spans a spectrum: physical products inspired by digital concepts, digital content brought into the tangible world, or a fusion of both. Guided by a passion for exploration, we push boundaries and innovate by merging techniques from both realms. The natural process is at the heart of our conception, where emotions guide the composition of every element—whether moving, still, or interactive.

Our vision is to craft timeless works of art that bridge the gap between the analog and digital worlds. We aim to create spaces that are both aesthetically inspiring and functional, whether in digital media (photography, design, animation) or physical forms (installations, rugs, and more).

Our mission is to unite art and functionality by designing emotionally resonant, purposeful works using high-quality, sustainable materials. This approach challenges industrial fast production and explores innovative forms through a blend of traditional and digital techniques, breaking stereotypes and evoking deeper emotional connections.

Through our tufting workshops, we invite others to embrace this vision and unleash their creativity in a shared journey of artistic expression.

meet the ARTIST

Antonio Labuhar

analog & digital / experimental / mixed media

I was born in Zell am See, Austria, in 1996, with Croatian roots. In 2017, I began my bachelor’s degree in Media Technology at the University of Applied Sciences Sankt Pölten, specializing in video technology and experimental media. Since 2018, I have worked as a freelancer in the music video and advertising industry, focusing primarily on directing, editing, VFX, and camera work.

In 2020, I relocated to Berlin, where I worked as a VFX artist and motion designer on various commercials, music videos, and live visuals. The Covid-19 pandemic led me back to Vienna, where I completed my master’s degree in Digital Design and Experimental Media in 2022.

Currently based in Vienna, I continue to explore my craft as an artist across various analog and digital mediums. My personal inclination towards diverse creative expressions makes it difficult to confine myself to one medium, and I find it fascinating how the same themes can be expressed on different platforms—whether analog or digital. My approach is driven by the desire to create art that not only outlasts my lifetime but also serves a purpose. This ever-evolving interplay between the physical and digital continues to shape my artistic style, creating pieces that are as thought-provoking as they are unique.
